RECS Architects is delighted to announce a significant victory in China! 🇨🇳 We have secured the prestigious commission to design the "Design District" in Keqiao, Zhejiang, following a highly competitive design competition.
Our winning proposal envisions an 85,000 square meter space consisting of 11 buildings, transcending the conventional office complex or commercial village concept. Instead, our design will transform the area into the city's vibrant "chic living room"—a dynamic environment where art and design come to life!
Amidst tough competition from 13 design studios, including top Chinese firms, RECS stood out with a vision that promises to redefine urban creativity. The project will serve as an industrial hub for design, fashion, and innovation, featuring workshops, studios, galleries, fashion markets, and more. This dedicated space will foster a thriving community of creativity and artistic expression.

The new format "Urban Design" aims to highlight the urban potential of the city in an accessible way for everyone, with numerous examples.
It addresses social decline and urban sprawl that have characterized the city, highlighting the lack of solidarity in peripheral neighborhoods.
Through six episodes, hosted by Alessandra Cadoppi and architect Pier Maria Giordani, solutions will be sought to halt expansion and counter social impoverishment, initially focusing on neglected public spaces that could become resources for Parma and its province.

The attestations of Public Merit for the Sant’Ilario Prize are intended to honor individuals who have particularly distinguished themselves in the fields of science, literature, the arts, industry, labor, sports, assistance, philanthropic initiatives, and collaboration with public administration activities. Among the names of undeniable value, who have brought the name of Parma around the world, qualifying it among the top players in the international design sector, there is also that of architect Pier Maria Giordani.
A native of Parma, born in ’69, Giordani is the founder of the multidisciplinary studio Recs Architects, which has maintained its headquarters in the city – in the San Leonardo neighborhood where he grew up – despite branches on four continents.
Thanks to his human and professional qualities, Giordani has created a multiethnic team and, through cutting-edge architectural and urban projects, while respecting sustainability policies and environmental protection, particularly valued by this Administration, he has received important international awards and recognition – 5 received just in the last year, but the list is very long – and brought prestige to the name of Parma worldwide.
