Tariq Al Mulhem

Tariq Al Mulhem is a prominent and versatile Saudi businessman and entrepreneur. He joined Recs Architects on January 2019 as Chairman and Partner. Tariq entered the Dubai property market at its peak in the early 2000s and has acquired over 20 years of experience in the area, as the owner of Connexion Property, former real estate company. Tariq also founded an interior design and construction company in Saudi Arabia.

Tariq’s entrepreneurial history also includes the foundation of ABC, a supply, logistics and transportation company that served as line haul between the US Air Army and Air Force in GCC countries since 1990, thanks to which Tariq has received many certificates of appreciation form the US Government.

As former CEO and board member of Digital Skys, Tariq has acquired strong leadership and advisory skills which will shine through in his position as Chairman of RECS.

Pier Maria Giordani was born in Parma in 1969. Since 2008 he is PhD in Architectural Composition at the Politecnic School of Milan. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnic School of Milan with Prof. Antonio Monestiroli.
He has been Architectural Composer of the Matter at the University of Parma and then from 2002 to 2010 at the Politecnic School of Milan. He has collaborated with the architect Aurelio Cortesi in many projects at the beginning of his career.
In 2011 he founded, with Antonella Marzi, Chen Zhen and Mario Scaffardi, the Recs Architects studio, of which is CEO, with offices in Parma, Milan, Belo Horizonte, Chengdu and Dubai.
In 2012 he is a consultant to WDCE Company in Beijing for redesigning the city of Boutou in Southern Mongolia. In 2013 Recs opens a studio branch in Fortaleza, Brazil, shifted in Belo Horizonte since 2018 and directed by Janaina Massote.
In 2013 he participated as a leader in the international competition for the Helsinki National Library and ranked first in the Best Upper Class. In 2014 he designs the first Smart City in social housing in the world at Croatà, Brazil, currently under construction, and in July 2015 presents her at the Expo of Milan within the Pavilion of Brazil. In 2016 Recs Architects designs the first Smart Square of Italy in Turin, Piazza Risorgimento, realized in the same year. In 2017 Recs opens the studio branch in Dubai and in 2018 opens astudio in Chengdu.
From 2000 to today, many of his achievements are in Italy and abroad: urban spaces, buildings and interiors. In 2011 he was ranked fourth in the competition for the redevelopment of P.zza Ferdinando di Savoia in Peschiera del Garda. In 2009 he was appointed by the Municipality of Parma for the upgrading of Piazza Corridoni, in the historic center of the city.
In 2008, he was ranked fourth in the Competition for Urban Reconstruction of Piazza del Malgher in Pozza di Fassa. In 2006, he was ranked third in the “Competition of Ideas for the Urban Reconstruction of Piazza Micheli in Berceto”. In 2005 he participated in the Third International Seminar on Museography. International Award for Architecture and Archeology “Gianbattista Piranesi” at Villa Adriana, Tivoli-Rome.
He is ranked first at the “National Competition of Ideas: New Popular Italian House”.
In 2005 he also participated in the Urban Life Design Seminar. Beijing case. High-speed urbanism. International workshop B.J.U.T. (China) & M.P.U. (Italy) “University of Technology, Beijing. His project was announced at the “European Space Design Contest: Five Squares for Catania. Piazza Montessori “. In 2004 he set up the exhibition “The paperwork, the digital, the built” on the construction of Eurotorri shopping center Aurelio Cortesi at the 1st Parma Architecture Festival. He edited the essays entitled Architecture and Entrepreneurship and The Representative Form, being published.

Chen Zhen was born in Shandong, China in 1979.
Since 2001 he has started his career in China where he has collaborated in the development of many architectural and urban projects.
He obtained the professional qualification of architect and urbanist in 2006.
Since 2011 he has been co-founder of Recs Architects (based in Milan, Parma, Belo Horizonte, Chengdu and Dubai).
It follows architectural projects in China, Europe and Brazil.
He has been Ph.D. at the Politecnico di Milano in architectural composition in 2012. Since 2013 he has become the contract professor of the School of Civil Architecture, Politecnico di Milano, has held the optional course “Project of Architecture and Cities in China”.
He has published many academic articles and has attended numerous international conferences as rapporteur.

Janaína was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil, in 1977.
She graduated in Architecture and Urbanism at Izabela Hendrix Methodist Integrated University (FAMIH) in 1999, Business Manager at the University of Administrative Studies (FEAD), in 2007, with MBA in Project Management by the Institute of Technological Education (IETEC) in 2010, Master’s degree in Management of Civil Construction by the School of Engineering of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and International Master BIM Manager by the Zigurat E-Learning (Barcelona-Espanha) in 2017.

She has been working as Project Manager for 12 years, with recognized experience in large projects and high complexity in the areas of urban planning and infrastructure, civil construction, architecture and interior design, coordinating and integrating multidisciplinary teams.

In 2017, she opened her own studio in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, and joined Recs Architects in 2018.

She is currently involved in many urban planning and interior design projects in Brazil.

Architect and urbanist graduated from the Fundação Mineira de Educação e Cultura (FUMEC) in 2005, Interior Designer from the Escola de Design da Universidade Estadual de Minas Gerais (UEMG) in 1989 and Master’s degree in Languages and Concepts in Architectures and Design from the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED – Espanha) in 2003.

She has been a teacher in the Universidade Estadual de Minas Gerais, in the Design Unit, teaching Project Practice since 1992, as well as an advisor of Completion Works Course and Researcher / Advisor at Centro de Estudo de Design, Inovação e Tecnologia (CEDtec).

She is the author of articles on architecture, urbanism and interior design, with numerous awards throughout her career.

In the 2018, with Janaina Massote, she started to manage as a COO the office Recs Brazil.
