The BRT São José project team, located in the city of Belo Horizonte, discussed and developed the criteria for the definition of the project elements based on research with experts and the evaluation of the Bus Rapid Transit – BRT system. Expert research determined the order of priority of elements and design parameters, and revealed information about the systems in operation. The results of the study made it possible to identify how each design element should be considered for an adequate performance of this component of the system, with a focus on capacity and level of service to the user.

The architecture defines the essence of the concept of connection, involving in a joint solution between constructive system and cover, a building that connotes connection between users, public spaces, distances and diversity.

The needs program of the São José BRT Station was beyond the demands of mobility. The space created also aims to meet the needs of users and the environment, optimizing the moment of permanence and enabling integration and interactivity with the city and users.
